A Little Mistake That Cost Frank A Lifetime of Freedom

By Mike Mundell

Here’s the deal. If you’ve been studying internet and/or attraction marketing for long, you’ve already seen this post. You’ve either received this in an email from somebody (possibly from me) or maybe we share mentors and/or a coach. Either way, I can’t take credit for writing it and honestly don’t know who to give credit it’s due.

I don’t make a habit of printing other’s work; however, this is my one of my absolute favorites. When I first read it, I was pissed because it described me. Now, I read it and see that we’ve a long ways to go as a profession as it not only happens in the physical world, but it’s taking on a life of it’s own in the virtual world in the form of SPAM in Facebook, Twitter, and other Social Media sites.

Enjoy!

A Little Mistake That Cost Frank a Lifetime of Freedom

I met a guy yesterday who absolutely loved his business.

That wasn’t the problem.

Here’s where this gentleman went wrong…

The first thing that came out of his mouth on our initial handshake was, “Hello, my name is Frank. How would you like to own your own business? I’ve got this amazing opportunity with this amazing product and the company is in pre-launch. Get in now and you’ll be set for life!”

Ok.

Honestly…Do you think Frank has a good shot at establishing any type of relationship or any chance at sponsoring distributors using this opening line???

Of course not! Its ludicrous to think that this could ever work.

I felt like I just got puked on by Frank and his business opportunity.

Yup, Frank puked on me.

And I definitely don’t want to do business with Frank now because I don’t work with people who puke on me…and neither should you!

This is THE #1 WORST POSSIBLE THING you could do if you’re trying to build a network marketing business.

This repels your ONLY target market, network marketers, because they could care less about your business.

This approach doesn’t work in person so why would anyone in their right mind believe it could on a website?

Yet I see MILLIONS of networkers promoting websites that are doing EXACTLY what Frank has done here: Puking on people by promoting their business opportunity on the initial handshake.

My question to you: As a current network marketer, how do you handle this when you encounter “Frank,” either in person or in Social Media including Facebook, Twitter, etc?

I’m anxious to read your comments below.

Thanks for your leadership.

Mike, You are so right. I get puked on or spammed on Facebook everyday. I totally ignore those posts.

Thanks for stopping by, Jim. I know what you mean about FB. I laugh because I used to do the same thing until somebody sent me a nasty email pointing out my folly. There are such things as blessings in disguise, eh? :>)

  2. For some reason, people involved in electricity MLMs seem to do this the most. They'll get my card from a bulletin board or somewhere, call me pretending for a nanosecond to be interested in my deal, then talk without taking a breath about their deal. They always claim that I'll make more money in their deal. How could they possibly know that? Have I told them how much I make? Have I told them I don't like my deal or there's anything about it I would change if I could? No, they weren't interested enough in me to even ask those questions (or any others). The truth is, I am passionate about what I do and not looking to switch. However, if I were, I would not switch to work with someone who uses that approach.

I hear ya Michele. It seems like I get hit from every angle. My (un)favorites are the folks on Facebook that send me a pitch right after becoming friends. No introduction or anything…they just think I need to know about their opportunity.

What is your reply to those that "pitch" you in this manner?
